In a paragraph (these will be shared with your class section), discuss what you read and watched today.

Option 1:  How are witch hunts today similar or different from the ones that happened in Salem?  (It's okay to base your answer off of the play and not something 100% historically accurate.)  How are the themes similar?  Who is to blame?  Has it changed?  Does it depend on the situation?  How has the use of the word witch hunt evolved?

Option 2: Do you agree with Miller that the play fits anywhere?  Why or why not?  How does what he discusses in the video and illustrates through The Crucible fit with the example videos (or not)?

  • Option 3: Why use the term "witch hunt" outside of Salem and what happened years earlier across Europe?  What does it imply when political figures use that term?  How might it help them to craft them message a certain way?

Note: Pick one option.  You do not have to answer every single question within your chosen option.  These questions are there to give you an idea of what to write.  However, you do need at least a paragraph and some reference to the documents and video to receive full credit.
