  • Check personal reader baggage and feelings towards birthdays
  • Check Cultural (top ten list w/ share)
  • Brief Mansfield BG
  • Read and Annotate "Birthday Party"
  • Add theme at the end keeping in mind if the story met general/cultural expectations or not (was there irony?)
  • Honors:
    • Give all of the definitions
    • Have students begin looking for STICCCS on their own
